Deposit

Q: How to make a deposit?

A: A deposit form must be submitted through the TBRC online system prior to sending materials to TBRC. The procedure is as followed:

  1. For a new customer, please register to establish a customer account.
  2. To make a deposit, go to menu “SERVICES” ----> select type of deposit service ----> select type of materials to be deposited.
  3. Fill out and submit a deposit form.
  4. After TBRC accepts your deposit request, you will be informed via email to send the signed deposit form together with the material to TBRC.


Q: Is there a service fee?

A:

  1. Public deposit: Free of charge
  2. Safe deposit and patent deposit
    There are fees for safe deposit and patent deposit Go to menu “SERVICES” ----> select type of deposit service ----> select type of materials to be deposited ----> Deposit fee


Q: Can I order materials I have deposited at TBRC?

A: The depositor can order the deposited material upon request. For materials deposited in the TBRC public collection, the order is free of charge for the first two requests.



Q: Can I request TBRC to further deposit type strains I have deposited at TBRC to other biological resource centers overseas?

A: For a public deposit, the depositor may also request TBRC to further deposit type strains deposited at TBRC to other well recognized biological resource centers. The service is free of charge. Please read the service details.

Order materials

Q: How to order?

A: Ordering online is the most convenient way to order our materials. The procedure is as followed:

  1. For a new customer, please register to establish a customer account.
  2. To order, search materials from product catalog and submit your order.
  3. Track your order from your customer account.


Q: How long does it take to receive TBRC materials I have ordered?

A: Materials will be prepared and shipped out as soon as we receive a signed original copy of material transfer agreement and payment. Shipping within Thailand generally takes 1-2 weeks while overseas shipping may take 2-3 weeks (see shipment details below).

  1. Microorganisms
    Microorganisms will be distributed in liquid/freeze-dried ampoules or on agar slants at ambient conditions. Liquid/freeze-dried microorganisms will be shipped out within 7 working days. Fresh cultures may take longer.
  2. Molecular materials
    Most vectors will be distributed in host microorganisms on agar slants at ambient conditions. Some materials will be distributed as dried DNA.
    Host microorganisms will be distributed in liquid/freeze-dried ampoules or on agar slants at ambient conditions.
    Liquid/freeze-dried materials and dried DNA will be shipped out within 7 days.
  3. Viruses
    Viruses will be shipped on dry ice within 7 working days. All shipments of viruses will be handled by World Courier and may not available for some countries.
  4. Antibodies
    Antibody solutions will be shipped at 4-8 °C within 7 working days. If the ordered quantity exceeds the quantity available in stock (bulk order), you will be informed of the expected delivery date. All shipments of antibody solutions will be handled by World Courier and may not available for some countries.
    Purified antibodies will be distributed in freeze-dried form at ambient conditions. You will be informed of the expected delivery date.


Q: Does TBRC provide materials free of charge?

A: TBRC charges minimal fees for materials. Materials can be provided free of charge under the following conditions.

  1. The depositor can request materials deposited in the TBRC public collection free of charge for the first two requests.
  2. The depositor may request other type strains from the TBRC collection as many as the number of type strains the depositor have deposited.
Identification service

Q: How long does it take to receive identification results?

A:

  1. Regular schedule
    o Molecular identification results of pure isolates of bacteria and yeasts received on the 1st–7th day of the month will be finished within the 7th day of the following month while pure isolates of filamentous fungi will be finished within the 7th day of 2 months later.
    o MALDI-TOF identification results of pure isolates of bacteria and yeasts received on the 1st–7th day of the month will be finished within 15th day of the month.
  2. Priority service
    o Molecular identification report will be sent to the customer approximately 14 days after pure isolates reach TBRC.
    o MALDI-TOF identification report will be sent to the customer approximately 1 day after TBRC obtains pure and fully active isolates (1-day old for fast growing strains and 2-3-day old for slow growing strains).
    *Report will be sent to the customer after TBRC receives a full payment.
